Core Consumables for Precision Component Packaging in the Sensor Industry

Carrier tapes, cover tapes, and anti-static thermoformed trays are the core consumables for packaging precision components in the sensor industry. Miniature MEMS sensors, automotive sensors, and industrial sensing chips are small in size with fragile leads, making them highly susceptible to electrostatic damage and physical impact, thus demanding stringent packaging protection.

Carrier tapes can be custom-cavity designed according to sensor shapes and, when combined with cover tapes via heat sealing, form reel-type packaging. They provide stable anti-static performance, dust and oxidation protection, and are compatible with high-speed SMT automated production lines, ensuring smooth tape feeding during pick-and-place operations and improving assembly efficiency.

For irregularly shaped or large-sized sensors, custom-formed thermoformed trays are often preferred. These trays feature individual cavities to isolate components, preventing lead scratches and mutual collisions, while also accommodating transport, burn-in testing, and warehousing needs.
